Columns and Beams

Columns and beams are transported to the site on flat-bed trailers and lifted directly from the trailer into the position.

Columns are placed in the foundation and aligned using jacks. When proper curing of grouting is obtained, columns are ready to receive the pre-cast beams.

Beams can either be placed directly on the columns or on shims depending on tolerances and surface quality of column. In some cases a dowel bar is projected from the column into the beam through a slotted hole provided in the beam. After final alignment both the dowel bar connection and the gap between the column and beam are filled with non-shrink grout.
